Air Force 1
40th Anniversary
To celebrate 40 years of the iconic Air Force 1, Nike partnered with communities across the US to see how they champion and bring FORCE to life. Special city edition colorways were created to storytell each community’s special connection to FORCE.
On SNKRS, we drove a season-long storytelling campaign around AF1 and the city that each colorway represented. From NYC’s The Bronx and their hip-hop origins to New Orleans glitz, over to LA’s flea market community and back east to Houston's “H-Town” reputation, we brought the Air Force 1’s history to life as richly as each city we hit.
Highlights included:
SNKRS Live: Live From The Archive, a livestream on the SNKRS app bringing to life the history and heritage of the AF1, starting with the OG pair designed by Bruce Kilgore, all the way to the latest catalyst collab, then done by Yoon Ahn.
Behind the Design: Air Force 1 ‘Little Accra’, a motion piece published on the SNKRS app diving into the Ghanian community in The Bronx that inspired the colorway, the cultural details built into the literal fabric of the shoe, and the designer who brought it to life.
SNKRS Visionaries: PJ Tucker, a motion episode featuring the NBA Player, ultimate sneaker collector, and sneaker boutique owner on what the Air Force 1 means to him, his city, and how it inspired his decision to launch his own sneaker boutique.
Content production was led by Space150, while on the Nike side I managed agency partners to execute brand vision and strategy, leading narrative development, story arc and research, and production management.
